The church building I attended in Boston burnt down today. This building holds such a special place in my heart. It holds so many fun and wonderful memories and I have had several significant and life-changing learning experiences there. On Sunday March 15, Tim woke me up early... he was all sorts of excited because it was a beautiful morning and he wanted to go take pictures on the beach (we were in Newport Beach California). We got down there and started shooting. Tim and I went to George's Island the other day. What an awesome place. We took a 30 minute ferry ride out to the island and walked around what used to be Fort Warren. This is a huge fort, built in the late 1700's, that was made to protect the harbor.It was fantastic. So when I was in Alaska, we went deep sea fishing. Our guide was feeding a couple eagles by throwing fish up to them which they would either catch in flight or snatch up out of the water. It was amazing. The beautiful birds came within about 5 ft of our boat. Finally! My goodness, it's about time! Five and a half months is much too long to go without warmth and color. Although the winter has its own beauty, I can't tell you how truly desperate I was for color. Last week when I saw the first blossoming tree it honestly brought tears to my eyes.
