Kentucky

Tim and I stopped in Kentucky and saw Bj, Rae, Damon, Lety, and all their kiddos. It was a very short visit (only a day), but it was so good to see all of them!

In the morning, when I was making breakfast, it got a little smokey. While it did make it a little harder to breathe, it made the light coming into the other room beautiful. Tim grabbed these few shots while I tried to salvage the french toast.

Crowell Family

Alisa and Corey Crowell welcomed little Elsie Jayne into the world about a month ago. Tim and I had the privilege to take some photos of the adorable little family.

Alisa and Corey are so wonderful. It was so much fun to spend that time with them and meet their precious little girl.

Recently

I've had these photos since this summer but I never got around to editing them. This week I'm doing a photoshop class at CDIA, so I've been stuck in front of a computer all day just playing around with photoshop. As a result, you get to see two new photos :)

I know Halloween has past, but I just found this (thanks to my nephew) and thought it was too funny to go unshared.  Don't get offended... just laugh.  :)

Ok... So my boss is on the board of the Greeting Card Association.

This Wednesday, she's going to CA for the Greeting Card Association Convention.

Wow.

A whole world I never knew about.

P.S. Today is the official first day of Fall. I'm not quite sure how I feel about that yet. I'm excited for the beautiful colors, but I am definitely not looking forward to the cold of winter. Each day it just inches closer and closer to the snowy, colorless, windy, bitterness that is New England winter. --be positive Tasha... you love Boston... you love Boston... It's all worth it--

The Island of George

Tim and I went to George's Island the other day. What an awesome place. We took a 30 minute ferry ride out to the island and walked around what used to be Fort Warren. This is a huge fort, built in the late 1700's, that was made to protect the harbor.
It was fantastic. We went into an ammunition magazine which, because of the vaulted ceiling, had incredible acoustics. Tim asked me to sing so I sang a few songs. The noise traveled well beyond the room where we were. A little girl heard me singing and came in to see what she was certain was a ghost. She shined her little flashlight right in my face and said "was that you that I heard singing?" We ended up spending the remainder of the day with 5 year old Emma and her dad.
What an adorable little girl. She was so quick to open up to me. Within an hour she was sitting on my lap and getting piggy-back rides. I think because she associated me with singing, she had me sing to her almost the entire time. I am pretty sure I sang Be Still My Soul and "the spider web song" about 15 times each. She would just rest her sweet little head on my shoulder and listen so intently to the words. She sang us a song too... she sang a mellow-- almost depressing song from The Nightmare Before Christmas. About halfway through she stopped and said "I'm trying not to cry." It was the cutest thing I've ever heard. Emma also has quite the imagination... at one point she said to me "Oh... I wish I could fly. I used to be able to fly, but my powers were taken away by bad guys." She then went on to tell me about specific instances when her ability to fly came in handy. She is definitely one of the friendliest, sweetest, and most adorable little 5 year olds I have ever met. The whole day, while I was busy singing, skipping, galloping, and climbing, Tim was talking to her dad. It was a great opportunity for him to share the Gospel. They talked about some key principles that struck the right chords. I think a good seed was planted that day. I love how the Lord places people in our path who we can help and can help us. He knows exactly when, where and how. It is amazing.

"You are now at a crossroads. This is your opportunity to make the most important decision you will ever make. Forget your past. Who are you now? Who have you decided you really are now? Don't think about who you have been. Who have you decided to become? Make this decision consciously. Make it carefully. Make it powerfully."

"Using the power of decision gives you the capacity to get past any excuse to change any and every part of your life in an instant."

"The road to success is dotted with many tempting parking places."

"Consider the postage stamp: its usefulness consists in the ability to stick to one thing till it gets there."

Hooray for Fuel Efficiency!!

My ultra long and painful car search is finally over!! I am now driving a wonderful Honda Civic! I'm super duper excited but I feel a little odd... I feel like a car is something that identifies a person. I've driven several different cars in the past 5 years, but in Boston my car has been a black SUV... quite different from this small white sedan. I feel like I am changing my identity. Exciting, but odd. Well, whether I'm redefining myself or not, I'm extremely happy with the car! Here she is!

Ain't she perdy?

New identity... does it fit?

Yippideedoo!

Tiffany was the first passenger in _____ ... Tiff said we need to name her. Any thoughts?

Sisters

My sister, Kiarah, and I have been able to spend the past 2 1/2 weeks together. It's been a great chance for us to strengthen our relationship. In this strengthening process, we've had a ...few... goofy moments.

This is basically the greatest picture... She was doing her darndest to get up on that tree ;)

Kiarah and I have, for some reason, been stuck on the song "You Are My Sunshine" for the past month or so. We're constantly singing it in all sorts of crazy accents.

Celebrating the days of our birth. I was honored to celebrate with you, dearest Katie. :)

and then it rained and we danced... what a beautiful birthday gift!

On the day of my actual birthday... we went to Shakespeare in the Common, again played in the rain, then just "existed" and continued "speaking english" at Carly's... the whole time I was wearing the beautiful tiara given to me by the wonderful Maryella :)
